Kim completed a Master of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Since graduating in 2008 she has been employed in special schools, international and mainstream schools, private clinics, and early education centres, both in Australia and across Asia.

With more than 10 years experience working with children from a range of abilities and cultural backgrounds, Kim focuses on helping children communicate in the most functional and successful way possible. She understands the importance of early assessment to help facilitate and develop treatments for a wide range of language, speech, social and literacy difficulties. Utilising the child’s interests and working together with the family, school and wider community, she creates fun, stimulating sessions to help each child realise their full potential.

Kim has a strong command of various forms of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and has seen the positive impact this can have for children and their families. She believes in a total communication approach to therapy, and frequently uses a range of AAC modalities that are tailored to the needs of each child. Examples of this include iPad apps such as Proloquo2Go, speech-generating devices such as GoTalk, eye-gaze systems, PECS, switches, visual supports, cued articulation and signing (Makaton).

Jess is by far one of the most professional and up to date physiotherapists we have met and we are delighted that she is working with our son with complex physical needs. It is a relief to have someone with a playful, child centred approach that takes into account his personality as well as all his many needs.
